Meet Derek Lam, who inspires global trends, at Neiman Marcus at Fashion Island on Wednesday from 1:30 to 9 p.m. The San Francisco-based designer, known for his crisp clean lines, is making an appearance in OC to present his latest collection in Designer Sportswear, Level Two.

The sought-after designer's spring line embodies no-fuss-yet-feminine, below-the-knee skirts, favorite maxi dresses and wide-leg pants. As with many of today’s trendsetting designers Lam is thinking out of the box—with affordable collections ideal for today’s economy.

Check out his new collection for Ebay: Derek Lam + Ebay. He designed 16 looks presented during Fashion Week in New York and asked his fans to vote on their favorites. The five winning dresses will be produced and sold on eBay in May.  The designs range in price from $175 for a black cotton poplin shift dress with peplum back to $295 for a floral print georgette boho halter dress.
